Call for Donations for the Victims of Typhoon Maysak in Micronesia

The Ateneo de Manila University, through its Disaster Response and Management (DReaM) Team, calls upon the University community to reciprocate the humanitarian generosity and charity shown by the international community on many occasions of response to disasters in the Philippines, by donating ONLY IN CASH on behalf of victims of Typhoon Maysak which struck portions of the Federated States of Micronesia in the Northwest Pacific on March 29, 2015.  The donations shall be used to help rebuild the substantively-damaged Xavier High School in Chuuk and to provide assistance to employee-families of the school, the neighboring community, and host families.

 

For ways you can donate:

  • Cash and Check donations made directly to Ateneo de Manila University.

    Starting 24 April 2015 (Friday), cash and check donations will be accepted by Ateneo de Manila cashiers located at Xavier Hall (Windows 7 and 8), the Grade School, the High School, and the Professional Schools at the Rockwell campus in Makati.
    Make checks payable to “Ateneo de Manila Universityfao DReaM Team – T. Maysak”.
    Local corporate donors may request Certificates of Donation from the cashiers in Xavier Hall.

  • Domestic donations

    via Metrobank
    a.    Please fill out two (2) copies of the payment slip.
    Indicate the following details:

  • Online peso donations

    via BPI Express Online
     
    For donors with deposit accounts at BPI, donations may be made via its Express Online Facility. Enrollment of the AteneoDReaM Team account with the donor’s BPI account is a pre-requisite to making donations through this portal.
     
    Enrollment:
    a. Login to www.bpiexpressonline.com.
    b. Follow the enrollment process.
    c. Choose “AteneoDReaM Team” from the list of Merchants under Company Name
    d. Input name of donor or “Anonymous” in the reference field.
    e. A confirmation page will appear to signify completion of the enrollment. An email message will also be sent to confirm enrollment.
     
    Making a donation:
    a. Login to www.bpiexpressonline.com.
    b. From the main menu, select: Payments & Reloading > Bills Payment > Pay Bills Today.
    c. Input the necessary information. Choose AteneoDReaM Team among the enrolled merchants to be paid.
    d. A confirmation page will appear to signify completion of the payment. An email message will be sent to confirm the payment.
    e. Forward the payment confirmation email to vpsd@ateneo.edu. Please indicate also the name that should appear on the official receipt, the complete email address, the postal address where to mail the official receipt, and the disaster response campaign being donated to (e.g. T. Maysak).
     
    via the Ateneo Website Giving Page.
     
    Receipts will be in Php from the Ateneo
     
    a.  Open http://ateneo.edu/giving/how-to-give?qt-how_to_give=3
    b.  Along the top bar, find and click on the icon Make a Gift.
    c.  In the Comments box in the bottom of the Giving form, write “DReaM Team - T. Maysak.”
    d. Continue filling out the form.
    e. Send.

  • US dollar donations

    Philippine Jesuit Foundation
     
    Donations in US dollars may be sent through the Philippine Jesuit Foundation (PJF). PJF is a duly registered and qualified charitable organization in the USA. Donations to the PJF are deductible gifts under the U.S. Tax Code Section 501(c)(3). US$ receipts and tax certifications are issued by the PJF.PJF will however charge a 5% service fee to cover the cost of processing the donations.

Trees fall on a Xavier School Bus in Micronesia

In the event excess funds are realized from this donation drive specific to this particular disaster event and no further relief or rehabilitation efforts are forthcoming, the excess funds will be moved to a General Fund that will be used as a standing fund for future disaster response operations, especially those requiring immediate assistance.
